The Readi-Power® Program offers comprehensive and thorough maintenance plans to make sure your generator is ready for hurricane season.

Readi-Power® Program extended preventive maintenance plans are:

  • Available for 1, 2, and 4 years
  • For Guardian (Elite and Quiet source) generators 20kW and larger
  • According to the manufacturer's recommended maintenance schedule
  • Performed by certified technicians
  • Worry free: we keep track of when service work needs to be done and call you to schedule an appointment

Plan A - Operational Inspection

One (1) year extended plan to include two maintenance visits; one visit including only Level 3 tasks and one visit including Level 3 and Level 5 tasks.

Plan A includes an operational inspection of the generator to ensure it is ready to operate and is able to carry the load when required. The inspection also identifies any potential problem areas. Inspectors will:

  • Wax Unit
  • Check the engine oil level. Adjust as necessary.
  • Check the engine coolant level. Adjust as necessary.
  • Check the gas delivery system for leaks and correct pressure. Tighten connections as necessary.
  • Check the air inlets and outlets for debris. Clean as necessary.
  • Check the battery electrolyte level and specific gravity if accessible. Adjust as necessary.
  • Check the battery posts, cables, and charger for loose connections, corrosion, and proper operation. Correct as necessary.
  • Check the unit wiring for loose connections, corrosion, and damage. Correct as necessary.
  • Test the engine and transfer switch safety devices. Correct and/or adjust as necessary.
  • Check gearbox oil level (if equipped).
  • Perform a 5 minute no-load operational run of the unit looking for any post-service problems.
  • Return the unit to standby setup for operation when required.

Plan B - Mid-level Inspection

Two (2) year extended plan to include four maintenance visits; two visits including only Level 3 tasks, one visit including Level 3 and Level 4 tasks and one visit including Level 3 and Level 5 tasks.

A mid-level inspection of the generator is performed to ensure it is ready to operate and carry the load when required. The mid-level inspection also identifies any potential problem areas. Inspectors will:

  • Check the engine coolant thermal protection level. Correct as necessary.
  • Check the engine accessory drive belts and fan coupling device if equipped for correct tension, wear, weather cracking, and damage.
  • Visually inspect the unit looking for leaks, wear or damage, loose connections or components, and corrosion. Correct as necessary.
  • Initiate an automatic start and transfer of the unit to site load and exercise it for at least 1 hour looking for leaks, loose connections or components, and abnormal operating conditions. Correct as necessary.
  • Change the engine oil.
  • Replace the engine oil filter(s).
  • Clean and re-gap engine spark plugs. Replace as necessary.

Plan C - Comprehensive Inspection

Four (4) year extended plan to include eight maintenance visits; four visits including only Level 3 tasks, two visits including Level 3 and Level 4 tasks and two visits including Level 3 and Level 5 tasks.

A comprehensive inspection of the generator is performed to ensure it is properly serviced and ready to operate and carry the load when required. The comprehensive inspection also identifies any potential problem areas. Inspectors will:

  • Check the engine coolant thermal protection level. Correct as necessary.
  • Check the engine accessory drive belts and fan coupling device if equipped for correct tension, wear, weather cracking, and damage. Replace the engine accessory drive belts.
  • Visually inspect the unit looking for leaks, wear or damage, loose connections or components, and corrosion. Correct as necessary.
  • Change gearbox oil (if equipped).
  • Start and exercise the unit at full connected site load for 1 hour looking for leaks, loose connections, or components, and abnormal operating conditions. Correct as necessary.
  • Change the engine oil.
  • Replace the engine oil filter(s).
  • Clean and re-gap engine spark plugs. Replace as necessary.
  • Replace the engine air filter(s).
